★ ABOUT ME ★ Hi!! I'm Chuck — an engineer who's been building for the web since back when the internet still made dial-up noises. 💾 These days I'm Head of Engineering at Anagram, where we build security awareness training that doesn't insult the people taking it. Before that I was a partner at Ship Shape (now dormant). In the open source world I maintain Shepherd.js, a guided product-tour library that's been walking users through software since 2014, and I contribute to Swach. I'm also the former co-host of "Whiskey Web and Whatnot", a podcast about web development, whiskey, and whatever else comes up, alongside Robbie Wagner. STILL WORTH A LISTEN!! *** This site is best experienced with the lights off, a beverage in hand, and a healthy tolerance for <marquee> tags. *** ★ LATEST ARTICLEZ ★ 08.19.2022 A tutorial on using the Notifications API to send native desktop notifications from your web app—covering permissions, actions, and service workers. 03.11.2021 An introduction to building services with the Serverless Framework on Node.js—abstracting away infrastructure so you can ship APIs and functions faster. 07.09.2020 Utilities and a workflow for using Mirage to mock a GraphQL API, streamlining the developer experience for building and maintaining features. ★ MY PROJECTS ★ ➤ Shepherd.js OSS
Guide your users through a tour of your app. A lightweight, framework-agnostic
product tour library I've maintained since 2014 — one dependency, small bundle,
fully customizable.
JavaScript open source tours ➤ Swach OSS
A robust color management tool for developers and designers — organize,
adjust, and store color palettes. I contribute to the project.
color tooling open source ➤ Whiskey Web and Whatnot PODCAST
A relaxed, whiskey-fueled conversation about web development, the tools we
use, and the people who build the web. I was a co-host — the back catalog
still holds up.
podcast web dev whiskey ★ WHISKEY WEB AND WHATNOT ★ A podcast about web development, whiskey, and whatnot that I formerly co-hosted with Robbie Wagner. *** THE BACK CATALOG STILL SLAPS *** ★ MY MAD SKILLZ ★
